is this not the famed gould/stanniforth car or a clone thereof but without the BDG engine if it is not, what has happened the original spaceframed car?

addendum to previous post I feel sure that it is the gould/stanniforth car please look at page 180 of the first edition of Race and Rally source book. Colour, chassis tubes Ralt frt uprights and Titan rears looks that to me who now owns it?

HI golfpin This car was a wright off, by Allan at a sprint on the front at Wallasey I think, the car flipped and landed on the L/H front susp' punching the bottom wishbone through the body work and the snapped off rose joint embedded in Allans left leg, the car ended upside down in front of the marshals post, by this time Allan had fitted a BDA 1600 ?? in to the car, I can remember ferrying Allan to see his son on a rally one winter with the crutches, but will have to look through the bulletins to check when this was, as allan was laid up in hospital for some time.

I remember Allan telling me about this - New brighton Sea front, wallasey on the wirral. He hated the circuit and said he would not race there again - too much concrete and no run offs. I beleive the car actually belonged to David Gould. It currently resides unrepaired in Allan's garden.

Mike and Rob thanks for the replies, I am a little confused, the very first pic posted by mike, what was found in the loft, the pictures I presume because that shows what appears to be a kent engine with Holbay tappet cover, at what stage in the cars life was this and in whose hands [date?] Seems that Allan and Gould might have done a deal yet I have a pic sent to me by Alaln of him in a kawasaki engined single seater just a few years back ....to think of that magnificent car lying in a back yard. Even though the pics at my end are a little fuzzy I can see why the qualityof the workmanship caused them such a problem at Shelsley Walsh surely there must be someone out there who could rescue the car

Thank you Mike !!!!
You have no idea how long I've been waiting to see more pictures of the famous Gould-Terrapin. I first read about it in Allans Race and Rally source book several years ago and wanted more since then. ;D
