Hi everyone,
What about a UK Terrapin get together with some VERY low cost racing that would be available to anyone - no expensive racing license needed - over a weekend of camping in the middle of summer, mixing with the best BMC A Series Engine tuners in the World.
The British Mini Showdown 2010 www.britishminiclub.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=758&Itemid=70
OK Drag racing may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this is more of a social event where like minded people can discuss the merits of 286 vs 296, Turbo vs Supercharger, 2 pot vs 4 pot and generally enjoy the weekend in the surroundings of the great British countryside. Oh! and have a beer or two in between.
This annual event is organised (very professionally) by the British Mini Club (no you don't have to be a member to attend) and well attended by every flavor of Mini (of which the Terrapin is undeniably linked by virtue of the A series engine).
There is even a class to cater for mini engined specials.
It would be good for the Terrapin mark if we could get together half a dozen or more at this event.
I have been attending this event for the last 5 years and it has been great fun, even better fun when you win your class (OK I have the fastest 1300 Steel bodied race mini in the world !!).
A Terrapin could possibly even win the fastest A series engine award - now there's a challenge - any one up for it ?
OK, no excuses now - you have got 10 months to get your act together and dust off your racing machines. Or get building ! (that,s going to be my goal)
Who's up for it ?
BTW - I am not connected with the organization of this event - I have just had so much fun over the years I want to share it.
