Hi Guys,
Here in Canada we have a class of small single seaters powered by 750cc Motorcycle engines called F4. It's perfect place for the homebuilder, fields are small, not much of commercial cars available here. I think the Terrapin would be a great car to get into this. Some modifications would have to be done, but I think you caould follow the plans. What do you think... What would you modify... Comments from the motorcycle powered versions would be more than welcome.

1.0 DEFINITION
1.01 The Car shall be a single seat, four wheel, open-wheel racing Car.
1.02 Cars shall comply with the CASC-OR GCR and Race Regulations as well as the Regulations
herein.
2.0 EXCEPTIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
2.01 An emergency brake is not required.
2.02 Fuel is allowed as stated under engine requirements.
2.03 A self-starter is not required.
2.04 Coachwork is defined as all external parts of the Car which are in the airstream and situated above
a plane passing through the centre of the wheel hubs, with the exception of units definitely
associated with the function of the engine or transmission or the roll cage.
2.05 BODYWORK
No part of the Car, except the safety rollover protection, shall exceed a height of 900mm (35.43in)
from the roadway with the Driver normally seated. The roll cage shall not exert aerodynamic
influence on the Car.
2.06 Behind the front wheels, no part of the coachwork shall extend beyond a vertical plane passing
through the centreline of the wheels on either side of the Car with the wheels in the straight ahead
position.
2.07 The coachwork ahead of the front wheels may extend to the outer sides of the front tires.
2.08 Any coachwork which is in front of the front wheels and extends beyond the inner faces of the front
tires shall not extend above the height of the front wheel rims.
2.09 Any specific part of the Car which has an aerodynamic influence on stability of the Car shall be
mounted on an entirely sprung part of the Car and shall be firmly and immovably fixed while the Car
is in motion.
2.10 All Cars running on other than pump fuel as available at a highway service station shall ensure
there is an approved decal visible on the Car to denote the use of such fuel.
2.11 All Cars shall adhere to CASC-OR Regulations regarding catch tanks except:
a) Minimum capacity for 4 stroke cycle engine - 1 litre
b) 2-stroke cycle engines are exempt from crankcase overflow catch tank requirements.
3.0 WEIGHT
The weight of the Car including coolant, lubricants and fuel plus the Driver with the safety
equipment specified in Appendix “K” shall be not less than 374.22 kg. (825 lbs.). Cars with engines
specified in 4.05 below shall be exempt from this rule.
4.0 ENGINE
4.0.1 The engine shall be based on a production engine, more than 1000 of the model produced, and
shall conform to the following rules:
a) It shall not exceed the manufacturer's first over-bore giving a displacement greater than
the stated maximum.
b) It shall have a maximum displacement of 750cc. (2 or 4 stroke cycle) and be burning
commercially available gasoline and be normally aspirated.
c) It shall have a maximum displacement of 750cc. (2 or 4 stroke cycle) and be burning
alcohol or alcohol/gasoline mix, be normally aspirated and carry approved markings.
d) All 2-cycle engines shall be equipped with a muffling device on each exhaust pipe.
e) 4 cylinder four strokes with 2 valves per cylinder and 2 stroke Suzuki GT 750s, 1972 -
1978, may have a maximum displacement of 850cc.
5.0 FOOT PROTECTION
All Cars shall have a mainframe, or suitable extension, which encloses the foot pedals at their
foremost depression.
