Terrapin drivers Graham Richards and Darryl Seymour competed this weekend in the Hawkes Bay Car Club's 50th Te Onepu Hillclimb.50 years may not seem like a big deal to some of you but it is thought that this is probably New Zealand's oldest hillclimb.Cars ranged from Malcolm Campbell's original "Bluebird"-a 1906 14.4 litre Darracq to multiple Bathurst winner Greg Murphy in a 2003 Holden Commodore. There's some beaut pictures at www.racepics.co.nz and under Rallying-HBCC click on Pukeora hillclimb 25-09-05 and Te Onepu 50th anniversary hillclimb. Graham's car is the blue Terrapin at the top left of the Terrapin homepage and it would be hard to find a better prepared race car.FTD went to the red Jedi you'll see at racepics site in 46.28 secs.Graham did a 58.48 to come 2nd in class(to a Brabham BT9 F3 car).Darryl was 5th in class. The following day Graham was 3rd in class.1st went to the Brabham,2nd to myself(in a Van Diemen RF 84 FF) and Graham was 3rd though there was only 1 sec seperating all 3 of us.Darryl did not compete in this event.
