Hi Whilst doing a check off everything I have set up the suspension on the car 3" off the ground. I can get the camber on the front wheels to 0, One side very negative & the other 0 with out adjustment, but the caster is hugely negative. I have now stripped my car to the bare frame and able to check things like suspension pick up points & chassis dimensions. the suspension pick up points are inconsistent with 5 to 10mm so I will be redoing those. I have also made a template for the wishbones & the existing wishbones are out 5 to 10mm. So I will be redoing those. The top rears where the only ones to the correct dimensions.
I have found the chassis has a twist in it of about 5mm at both ends when placing a string down the centre. Is this acceptable? Can this be compensated when re positioning the suspension pick up points? Can I assume if I rebuild to the plans that the caster will be 0 or positive? Is a standard mini rack OK to use with out modifications?
As a side note re my earlier question about harness points. I will be welding to the chassis with a wrap around bracket or fillets. I found the photo in the book & looked at what the formula junior, ford & first do. Not drilling the chassis.
