Can anybody suggest a good place to find Terrapins for sale? I currently have a couple of minis, but I am planning on selling one to create the space for an a-series engined Terrapin.

Thanks for the sites. I've ordered the book, but it hasn't arrived yet. I was going to have a read and consider making one myself. The problem is lack of skill. I would have to get somebody else to make the parts and assemble them myself. Any ideas on how much it would cost to have a chassis manufactured?

Hi, I don't know how much it would cost, but building the chassis is not such a difficult undertaking. When I first build my chassis I had no skills, just a few welding courses. My project has been put on hold for a few years ( I built two Locost which are almost finished), but I'm getting back in it. There is an immense satisfaction of starting from a bunch of tubes and ending with a chassis... Plus you can always ask questions here if your stuck

I have a Terrapin which I have not raced for 20 years, but has been restored and engine rebuilt a few years ago. Needs some more work to finish off and now my house restoration is (virtually) complete I hope to get back on the job.
Alternatively, it could go to a good home, for the right price of course.
Let me know Peter if you are still in the market....

well if he is'nt I will be !!....or in any other original models, does anyone know where the mk7 'rubber band' car is ?? Iv already got a modern bike engined example but would love to get my hands on one of the older cars, ideally a 10" wheeled type, with a decent a-series, or one of the more unusual like the the Mk7 or a ford engine/ mini box versions! There must be lots out there lurking, i cant believe that they've all been scrapped or crashed! My number is 07977 937237 Regards Richard

Geoff,
I've been away from the forum, so have only just read your message. Is the Terrapin still for sale? How much would you part with it for?
Pete.

Geoff,
No, sorry. I can't check my e-mails at work and didn't manage at the weekend either. I'll have a look tonight, unless you can put it on the forum. When did you send the message, because I checked late last week?
Pete.

Geoff,
I'm sure that I'm stupid, but I can't find where the private messages are on the forum. Any ideas?

Peter, If you log in to the forun and scroll down to the bottom of the page, your name should be there with private messages and a number. Just click on the number and it should take you to a list of them.
If not just give me a call on 01492 592122

We'll I'm still slogging away on one of them! A mk2. So far I've removed and hurled an 1100cc bike engine, and have a 1275 cc Mini unit to go in. I've bought a genuine 'S' set-up for the front which is now all rebuilt. Rebuilt the rear drum set-up with minifins. Had all the suspension nickle plated. Bought all new rose joints. Bought new springs and coil overs (AVO). rebuilt the steering. made a custom seat for it, and rebuilt the pedal set. Also had a new roll-over bar made which is the correct height.
Can anyone help with bodywork? no -didn't think so...
Best wishes to all my readers 'Des@tatimms.com' will find me, I only come here for my holidays.
