I am looking to buy (or build if i cant find one!) a small lightweight trailer perfectly sized for my terrapin. Does anyone have anything like this for sale or have plans for building one i could buy off you etc ....Any info about this at all (even photos of anything similar) would be gladly received.

Hi, Allan's Terrapin book - High Speed Low Cost includes plans of the lightweight trailer he built for his Terrapin. Most of the commercial car transporters seem a bit too large and heavy for a dainty little Terrapin! Have a look at my Mk5 post from March this year, there is a picture of the trailer I built for my single seater - you might want to build something similar? This trailer has the wheels below the deck therefore is nice and narrow to fit into a garage. New parts for trailers do not come cheap (unless you use Mini bits like Allan did) the parts and steel for my trailer came to about 700 pounds and I already had the deck (old caravan chassis with aluminium road signs for floor!). One thing I noticed with my trailer is the extra wind resistance from the high mounted tyre rack - preferable if these are not out in the airstream but my trailer needed the spare tyres located here to get the correct nose weight - although I could have moved the axle position if I fitted the tyres elsewhere. I did see Terrapin_Racer (Rob) selling a Terrapin trailer on e-Bay some time back - I don't know if he sold it? Doug.

Sorry - sold my open trailer I have two braked axles and am building a covered version. Back at work in the garage now after a long work interrupted interlude!
