Good day, all. I've encountered Mr. Jawfish on other boards, so I knew to come here.
I want plans, circa Mr. Staniforth. I wish to make sure I understand what he has available.
I know there's the Terrapin, the legendary open wheel car. And there's the prototype, which I believe is to be called the Monopin. And what of something called a Megapin, another open wheel car? Is that also Mr. Staniford's?
First and formost, I want to build an open wheel car. Without going on too much about it, I will want to adapt the plans a bit to the class requirements. (Nothing dramatic, I'm sure no two cars are identical anyway.) If there are two open wheel plans, would one be better suited?
And I'm tempted to take a crack at a prototype, maybe for DSR, so I might want two sets of plans. But more important than the prototype, I want the latest edition of the book, 'High Speed/Low cost.' It's not available here in the U.S.
Simply put, how will I be getting all this? Can they all be had from one place? Is there an address I can just send a check to? Dollars or Pounds?
One suggestion I can make that would ultimately make this easier for everyone would be to use a publisher like iUniverse.com. They, and others, do POD. (Publlishing On Demand) There's no such thing as out of print, when there are orders they whip a few up. iUniverse is with Barnes and Noble, so I can say that one is a solid company, but there are others if you prefer.
I don't want to wait until something like that is taken care of, so I still need the traditional approach to getting mine.
