This is something I'm interested to know myself - I fancy supercharging something along the lines of a CB750 or similar. I know it's been at least once before in a terrapin too...

You can supercharge the mini engine. A common modification now is to utilise the Eaton supercharger from a BMW Mini (very common on Ebay as owners often upgrade their superchargers). Supercharger is driven from crankshaft. You may need to lower the compression of your engine (mods to cylinder head or a spacer plate between the block & head) Advice - plenty of books on the subject on Amazon cheers Rob Attachments:

How about supercharging a bike engine though? I know it can be done.
I had been thinking of using a CB500 engine, which in stock form has the same power output as a standard mini engine, but at considerably less weight. Supercharging it would only add to the fun!
I have a se7en kit car ith a yamaha R1 engine at the moment and there really is no comparison to any car engine, especially when accelerating through the gears using the paddle shift up to 11,000rpm.
I could go for a similar motor in a terrapin, but that would ontroduce the element of trying to compete with similar cars using similar power. That's how things become obsessive and expensive (and I'm prone to both obsession and expediture so need to avoid temptation where possible!)
